Who Can Join

 

The Golden Eagles is open to any horn player, percussionist, drum major or color guard performer over the age of 17 who has the time to make a commitment to our corps.  To sign up, contact Don VanEssendelft at 631-567-9320 or Pat Dugan 289-7980.

 

Practice Information

 

The corps holds its weekly practices on Tuesday nights at 8:00pm in the gym at the West Sayville Fire House, 80 Main St., West Sayville.  We hold additional rehearsals before any exhibition or competitive performance.

 

Parade and Exhibition Responsibilities

 

Corp members are expected to participate in all parades and exhibitions in full uniform. Typically we perform in about 10 parades starting in March (St Patrick’s Day Parade) and ending in early December. 

 

Mini Corps

 

The Golden Eagles also sponsor an award winning mini corps.  Our rehearsals are separate from the parade corps although there may be times when out Tuesday night rehearsals are used to give the mini corps extra rehearsal time.

 

Equipment & Uniforms

 

Horns, drums, drum sticks and uniforms are all supplied by the corps.  Currently we are marching with our less formal uniform which is the infamous “Bumble Bee” shirts and blue shorts.  Members are required to purchase a paid of white sneakers or marching shoes.  We supply the socks.  Members are responsible for cleaning of their uniform.
